Impact Training

A brief history of Impact

Impact was established in 1998 to deliver training to the health and social care sector.  The principles of respect, dignity, choice, promoting independence fulfilment and enabling people to reach their potential are just some of the original values that continue to underpin the organisation today.

Steady growth

The initial aim was to deliver training in the Home Counties, however as Impact's reputation grew so did the geographical area they covered.  Impact now delivers training throughout the United Kingdom.  To meet this need they have been slowly building up a bank of like minded trainers in 12 main regions of the UK.

Qualifications

Impact started by delivering one and two day in-house training sessions to local authorities, housing associations and care homes.  During the delivery of these sessions Impact became increasingly aware of the need for many of the staff they were training to gain professional qualifications and recognition.

In September 2000 Impact became one of the first City & Guilds Centres to gain scheme approval for the first Vocationally Related Qualification – The Certificate in Community Mental Health Care.  Within a year Impact was the largest national provider of this qualification and gaining a reputation for delivering high quality, jargon free training and qualifications.

When the Learning Disabilities Awards Framework (LDAF) was introduced Impact was one of the first organisations in its region to gain scheme approval to deliver the awards in October 2001, and one of the few organisations in the country to have taken candidates through to completion of the full awards at levels 2 & 3 rather than just deliver induction and foundation units.

Our focus today

Impact's focus today is enabling organisations in the health and social care sector to develop a professional and competent workforce which in turn are able to provide a high quality service to their clients and service users.
