Impact Training

 What is "Learning Check"?

Let's say you are a Training Manager and you have paid for 15 of your staff to attend a one-day training session.

When the session is finished the evaluation forms indicate that they all found the session useful and informative. However, how do you check that they actually learnt anything?

That's where Impact's "Learning Check" system comes in. It's an online set of multiple choice questions designed to check what learning has taken place.

A simple system

No flashy software, no complicated instructions, nothing for you to set up. All that's required is a computer with an internet connection.

Demonstration version

We have set up a demonstration version, to give you an idea of what the system can do. It contains only 4 questions, and it assumes that participants have recently attended training in the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Just click on the image below to access it.

Before and after comparisons

One very effective approach, which we are currently using for Safeguarding Adults training with Norfolk County Council, is a "before" and "after" comparison. Participants are encouraged to answer some questions about the topic before they attend the training, and their scores are recorded. Then after they have attended they are asked to complete the same questions. A significant increase in scores would suggest that the training has been effective.

How does Learning Check work?

Very simply!

  1. We set up the test for you, and it is hosted on Impact's server.
  2. We send you the link, which you forward to the people in your organisation who should take the test.
  3. You give them a deadline.
  4. They click on the link in your email which takes them directly to the test.
  5. They complete the test
  6. You collate the results.

Features

All Learning Check tests are fully customisable to your requirements. Here's a list of the main features:

  • Test can contain any number of questions
  • A test containing 20 questions should take about 10 minutes to complete
  • Each question can have 2, 3, 4 or 5 possible answers
  • Each question can have 1, 2, 3 or 4 possible correct answers
  • If a question is answered incorrectly the correct answer can be displayed immediately (with an explanation if required) - or this option can be turned off
  • A "pass mark" can be set, if required, to any percentage
  • Students can print off a certificate at the end of the test indicating their score
  • We can, if you wish, arrange for the names and scores to be recorded to a databse
  • The test is available 24 hours a day, every day
  • The questions can be set by Impact, or you can design your own questions

We can add a Learning Check test to any of our existing training days. There is no charge if you book 10 days of that topic with Impact within one financial year. Just contact us for an informal discussion.

We can also develop Learning Check tests for training that we ourselves do not run for you. Again, please contact us for a discussion.

The price

There is no charge if we set up a Learning Check test for you on a topic for which you have booked at least 10 separate sessions with Impact in a 12 month period.

If you have booked fewer than 10 separate sessions with Impact on a particular topic then the price for each Learning Check test is £250.00 plus VAT per topic.

If you would like us to set up a Learning Check test on a topic for about which we have not delivered any training for you the price is £500.00 plus VAT per topic.
