First Line Management Qualifications 
Impact is currently approved by ILM (the Institute of Leadership and Management) to deliver three qualifications in first line management:
- The Level 3 Award in First Line Management
- The Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management
- The Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management
The Level 3 Award in First Line Management
This qualification is aimed at new or aspiring first line team leaders or managers. It is a concise qualification designed to give students an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required by today's first line manager. It covers practical techniques for tackling managerial problems and making decisions from gathering and interpreting information through to the effective communication of outcomes.
In order to gain the Award students must achieve a total of 5 credits. One of these is the mandatory unit ("Solving problems and making decisions") which is worth two credits. The other three credits come from a list of optional units.
The course duration depends on you, but is typically about 6-8 weeks from start to finish.

The Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management
This qualification is aimed at practising or aspiring first line team leaders or managers. The Certificate is a comprehensive qualification which covers practical techniques for tackling managerial problems and making decisions from gathering and interpreting information through to the effective communication of outcomes. It also covers organisational change and time management.Students may take this Certificate as a standalone qualification, or they may have already achieved five of the necessary credits by completing the ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management.
In order to gain the Certificate students must achive a total of 20 credits. Seven of these credits come from the four mandatory units, leaving a further thirteen credits to be gained from the optional units.
The course duration depends on you, but is typically about 4-6 months from start to finish.

The Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management
This qualification is aimed at practising or aspiring first line team leaders or managers. The Diploma develops a very comprehensive range of management skills, providing learners with the broad body of knowledge required by the first line manager. It builds on the units from the Award and the Certificate, and specifically covers business communication, creativity and innovation in the workplace, information gathering and analysis and managing customer service.
Students may take this Diploma as a standalone qualification, or they may have already completed the Level 3 Award and/or Certificate in First Line Management. If they have already completed the Award then they will already have achieved 5 of the necessary units towards the Diploma. If they have already completed the Certificate then they will already have achieved 20 of the necessary units towards the Diploma.
In order to gain the Diploma students must achive a total of 37 credits. Thirteen of these credits come from the nine mandatory units, leaving a further twenty four credits to be gained from the optional units.
The course duration depends on you, but is typically about 8-12 months from start to finish.
