Learning Disabilities Qualifications
The replacement for the old Learning Disabilities Qualifications ("LDQ") are available from August 2011.
The new qualifications are called:
- The Level 2 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
- The Level 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
Both Awards are aimed at members of staff who work with people who have learning disabilities. Typical employers would be local authorities, NHS trusts, private and voluntary agencies. Typical job roles would include healthcare/care assistants, support/key workers, family support workers, domiciliary care workers, day centre workers etc.
Both Awards can be completed within about 3 months from start to finish.
